Food Forest Design

Harvesting chokecherries. Food forest layers. Design process.

Description

In natural design you can create unique habitats for different species. We will be developing skills of observation while learning more about preservation to extend the life of what we consume. This includes understanding local ecosystems, as well as the various relationships within and using planting strategies to mimic these processes.

This is one of a number of workshops in food sovereignty, delivered by Mní Wičhóni Nakíčižiŋ Wóuŋspe with the financial support of Standing Rock Language and Culture Institute.
