Dakȟótiyapi uŋgdúkinipi kte / Lakȟótiyapi uŋglúkinipi kte

Please Note

We have only twelve spots available in each DLSI course this June, due to public health protocols still in effect at Sitting Bull College. Priority will be given to Standing Rock’s fluent speakers, followed by other Standing Rock members and descendants, and teachers in Standing Rock schools, followed by other priority groups (see below for the full prioritization chart).

Anyone is welcome to apply for DLSI courses, regardless of your priority group. Go to Courses to explore the courses that are available to you, according to how many years you've attended DLSI in the past. Most classes run for three weeks but some run for just one. When viewing the course description, click Show Sessions to see the learning objectives and SBC course code for each week. Most DLSI students take two courses per week (one in the morning and the other in the afternoon), but some take just one.

When you’re ready to apply, click Register from any course page, and complete the form. You will be asked which course(s) you hope to attend each week. Repeat this step for all attendees in your group. The deadline is May 12 at 11:59pm CT. Spots will be offered within each priority group on a first come, first served basis, so we encourage you to submit your preferences as soon as possible.

On May 13, spots on courses will be offered to applicants in order of priority, and those applicants will register officially with Sitting Bull College. Other applicants will be kept on the wait list. On May 19, any spots that haven’t been accepted will be offered to the next applicants on the wait list. On May 25, if there are any remaining spots that haven’t been accepted, they will be offered to the next applicants on the wait list. The first classes start on June 6.
